Joint Replacement Information Session
Each month COG patients undergoing a joint replacements on the lower body, and their carers, are afforded the opportunity to hear from an orthopaedically trained RN and lower body Physiotherapist about what to expect and how best to prepare for their surgery. Normally held in the afternoon, these sessions go for 2 hours and are follwed by an afternoon tea. To register please speak with the Personal Assistant who is assisting with your hospital pre-admission paperwork.

COG Upper Body and Spine Medical Professional Educational Day
This event was held on Saturday 7 May 2011 with the COG surgeons offering General Practitioners, Physicians, Sports Physicians, Physiotherapists and other allied health professionals the opportunity to delve into the orthoapedic world of the upper body (spine, shoulder, elbow, hand, and wrist). The day was attended by 97 professionals and feedback extremely positive. It is planned to run a similar event in May 2012. Registrations will open 4-6 weeks prior to the event.
COG Lower Body Medical Professional Educational Day
This event was held on Sat 13 August 2011, with the COG surgeons offering General Practitioners, Physicians, Sports Physicians, Physiotherapists and other allied health professionals the opportunity to delve into the world of lower body (foot, ankle, knee and hip).
Orthopaedic Trauma Review Breakfast
Every Friday morning during the ACT school term, the COG surgeons join with all of Canberra’s Orthopaedic Surgeons and The Canberra Hospital staff to review trauma cases. Registrars, Fellows, Radiographers, Nurses and other medically connected people are welcome to attend.
